Christmas Blessings

Blessings of Christmas
at St. Catherine’s

Dear ones in Christ,

As we near the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, we find ourselves with worship and fellowship opportunities that fill our days. We had a wonderful time last Sunday with a joint worship and Lessons and Carols with Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church. In a world that is ever-more divided and polarized, coming together in ways that foster unity and inclusion is one of the most faithful and effective ways we can bring our Christian commitments into our world and communities.

In Christ,

Opportunities to help others:
Our Mission Committee is continually working on ways to connect with needs within our community. Your Christmas donation to our mission and community services this year will:

  • Assist in providing services for children in need at Nehalem Elementary
  • Assist a family in need who recently suffered a fire in which the father has been injured and many of their household goods destroyed (see note below from Beverly Goertzen)

To help, make a check payable to St. Catherine’s and add “mission needs” in the memo line.

Year-end giving
Thank you for faithful and generous giving throughout the year that allows us to meet our financial obligations as a church. As we come to the end of the year, please review your financial commitment to St. Catherine’s and do what you can to complete your pledge. Additional financial support goes a huge way to cover unanticipated expenses and maintain our ability to live into our worship, ministry and mission commitments as Christian community. Gifts can be mailed to the church at the following address:

St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church
P.O. Box 251
Manzanita, OR 97130

Our volunteer Financial Administrator will be mailing year-end contribution statements in January.

Family in Need

A family is in need of some help to tide them over the next couple of months until the father can go back to work. There are specific clothing items needed for a variety of ages and basic food pantry items.

Non perishable foods can be brought to the church for the family. For the clothing items check with Beverly via email:  bevgailmg@yahoo.com. Fred Meyer gift cards are also a possibility. Or you can donate through St. Catherine’s — just note “family in need” in the information line.
