Our Backpack Project
Sharon and l met with Rose last Friday to pack and distribute the weekend food parcels . We will do that once monthly through December then we might split and cover twice monthly. Once we really know the ropes we could train someone else who has time and the desire to roam the school hallways and find the backpacks that need food packages. In the meantime Sharon and I are a good team!
We are also looking into being part of the Food Roots program that the Food Corps member Amy Staats is organizing. The program develops school gardens to produce fresh vegetables to add to the need for food security.

Ice Cream Social to Thank You
Congregational Care invites you to an ice cream social after the 9:30 service on Sunday, October 16th. We will celebrate the gift of caring. If you’ve prayed for someone in our church community, called or visited a member at home, prepared and delivered a meal, given a ride, sent a birthday card, or taken home communion to a person unable to come to church. It takes all of us — we thank you for sharing God’s love.

Convention Basket Raffle
Diocesan Convention is fast approaching, and so is the Commission on Poverty and Homelessness’ Annual Basket Raffle! St. Catherine’s has always participated with a basket for the raffle.
This is one of two major fundraisers for the Commission which supports programs to create support and community with those experiencing poverty or homelessness.
Would you like to take on this opportunity to organize our basket? Pick a theme — ask members to seek donations from merchants or buy something for the basket. Let Patricia+ or Ann+ know that you want to spearhead this project!
